How good are these...

Animes, friends of mines recommended I watch the following anime -Black Butler, and Death note I don't want to waste my time and just looking for opinions on the following.

Death Note is worth watching for sure,as for Black Butler it depends on your personal taste

As people say, Death Note is worth it and kind of a must-see/read in order to be able to proudly call yourself an anime/manga nerd.
Kuroshitsuji(BB) is really good as a manga, the anime was also good in the beginning, but then.. meh..

I know nothing about Black butler. But Death note is definitely worthwhile watching. It has great suspense, story, etc. I recommend it

You never know until you watch them yourself. Everyone has different tastes in anime and manga so just seeing someone say something's good doesn't mean you'll necessarily like it. I know Gurren Lagann's good, but I personally can't stand watching it. :/

But yeah, go watch it and find out for yourself. You're not really wasting your time if you're looking for anime to watch anyway. If you like it, keep watching, but if you don't then don't watch it.
