I always felt it was ridiculous that Itachi could immobilize Oro so easily. Probably the smartest and craftiest Sanin and no sensible counter for Genjutsu. All of those snakes he has and he can't commission one of them to disrupt his chakra flow?

Seems like just PIS to make Itachi look good.

Edit: Yh, Taking away one of the major things that makes Itachi triumph over Oro is a cheap way to setup a vs battle.

It was during Kishi's 'Itachi phase'. That annoying habit he gained during Shippuden of gaining an anime boyfriend for the month and started irrelevantly hyping said dead character to pander to an audience of easily impressed shonen fans.

He did the same for Madara, Kakashi, Sasuke and Minato, twice. I know him solo'ing Oro is canon but considering this happened during this Itachi crush period, I don't take it too seriously or base arguments on that one scene.

---

Agreed though, taking away Itachi's genjutsu is like taking away Nagato's rinnegan. They're one-trick ponies so it's unfair to disable them that much for a VS match.

There's no plot device involved, part 1 already explained you cannot fight an Uchiha 1v1 because of genjutsu. Itachi is already special amongst Uchiha even Sasuke who is an incarnate had trouble countering him. A fodder like Oro stood no chance against someone with the eye power to unlock EMS

His stamina did improve during the war but some of the feats and his confidence with Kamui in particular started getting ridiculous around the point of Obito. It peaks with him thinking he can literally save the day by using Kamui and ends around the Obito battle or Susanoo reveal.
