Why does this have to be plot? Calling plot is basically considering that, at that point, Naruto had terrible writing. When Yamato was introduced and went on to encounter Orochimaru, even Orochimaru was surprised he survived after everyone else had died.

Orochimaru coming out of snakes mouths isn't plot. It's an established ability that he has that actually makes sense. Orochimaru being a human snake. Snakes shed their skin.
