How does Sasuke even plan to become hokage?

I am not saying that Sasuke would not make a good hokage or that he's not strong enough. In fact, he is more than strong enough and he is somewhat of a rational thinker. However, Sasuke is still a known criminal with almost no positive renown. Even if Sasuke is pardoned for his crimes, that won't change the villagers' and shinobis' personal opinions of him. The opinions of the people and other shinobi do matter when the hokage is selected. Other hokage candidates such as Naruto, Kakashi and even Shikamaru have some positive renown and acknowledgement to their names. Naruto is the hero of the village for beating Pain (and that feat is praised around the entire shinobi world). Kakashi is known as the hero of the sharingan and he has renown around the shinobi world. Even Shikamaru was offered a position in the guardian shinobi 12 and he is on that special team that was assigned to take down members of Akautski.

What positive renown does Sasuke have?
People know that he killed Itachi.
Some people know that he killed Deidara.
They know that he beat Orochimaru (although they clearly see now that Orochimaru is back).
They don't know that he helped against Kabuto or that he revived Orochimaru.
They know about his help against Madara, Obito and the juubi.

While these things are good, the people also know that:
He attacked Bee.
He attacked the 5 kage summit.
He killed Danzo (yes Danzo deserved it, but in the eyes of the people, Danzo was technically a good guy)
They may or may not know about his former plans to crush Konoha. I think some of them do know.

As you can see, Sasuke's name is stained with crime and people don't really like him. Not even Konoha 11 members really trust him. I don't see how Sasuke can become hokage like this.

I personally think that Sasuke is just going to try to take over Konoha by force (and that will be the source of Naruto vs Sasuke). I think that the leaf won't accept him and that he will attack the leaf in retaliation in order to forcibly subjugate Konoha under his rule. That is the only way in which I see Sasuke leading Konoha.

People don't know the story about Sasuke and his clan, once told the story they will come to understand his actions(well some of them anyway). Also his help in the war will boost that and he will be acknowledged. Plus the edo Hokages are there and can vouch for him. He has alot of ways to get back on the villages good side, so don't worry to much about it.

I'm not saying he'll be Hokage, but he'll be somewhat important to the village and most likely will have a leadership role.

He probably won't.

Even if he gets pardoned he's going to get shunned a thousand times more then Naruto ever was. And this just isn't from the Leaf, he attacked during the Five Kage summit, there's no way the general public of the five nations don't know that their Kage was attacked and everything went to hell.

Gaara was a mass murderer and he became Kazekage.

Beating Itachi, Deidara and Oro is actually a good look for Sasuke since they were all Akatsuki. Ohnoki said whoever stopped the ET would be a hero to the shinobi world which means him and Itachi.

There were many people who didn't know who Danzo was as he hid in the shadows. Tsunade heard about the events of the Summit, meaning her and probably many others know of Danzo's attempt of controlling Mifune. Meaning Danzo doesn't come off as good guy to anyone anymore. And Bee was only attacked by not captured. Sasuke's war feats more than make up for his attacks against the summit and against Bee. Especially compared to Gaara who was a killer in the Sand Village for some time.

Even as a Sasuke fan who tries to keep up with his thought pattern, I have no Earthly Idea.
If you go strictly by what he has done and what he will be given credit for the good he has done waàaaaaaaaaaay outdoes the bad, though most don't know that yet. Still, Hokage is a position Thats appointed, how he will get there is a mystery.

That would be disrespectful to his brother, Itachi wants to keep it a secret. Kakashi, Naruto , Sasuke , Obito, the 2 elders and Yamato will remain the only ones alive who know about the truth.But i see what you mean if he did blurt it out.

No matter how you look at it, the story will get out there. Matter of fact it would be for the best. I bet you the village doesn't even know how their ill intentions and actions affected the Uchiha. Uchiha planned the coup because of them. The village needs to realize their mistake.

Also Itachi over thought it, right now it wouldn't be disrespectful to his brother to tell them.

My problem white him is he might me somewhat logical in battle but most of his actions are of pure emotion. Making with just emotions is unwise especially from a leader. After the battle with itachi sasuke has become more emotional, and less technical thus making him vulnerable both physically, and mentally. He hasn't been the accurate quick thinker like he was. I like him but he's slipping cuz of his emotions not by the lack of power.

And with kurama he still didnt have what it took unless he was coached by kakashi,kurama, or various others.

fixing the relationships between two villages is different from appointing an INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL, who technically attacked a summit of Kage's/village leaders and killed a Hokage candidate, as the leader of your village.

If anything, Gaara's case seems worse as he used to slaughter people in the village I believe. I have nothing against the Sandman though, he's still one of my favorites but saying Sasuke doesn't deserve Hokage because of his crimes seems ill-based when compared to Gaara.

Though you're right too, Naruto and the Edo Hokages words will make Sasuke look good if need be.

Why do you say that Kakashi can't become the next hokage? He'd make a great one if you ask me. He is very rational, he has plenty of renown and he was even appointed to be the general of one of the divisions of the shinobi alliance. In fact, he would have been hokage right now if Tsunade hadn't waken up from her coma when she did.
