I doubt it was amplifying his jutsu. Shinra tensei and Banshō Ten'in require no seals, so why would Madara suddenly use them now, just to amplify his jutsu? I think not. Madara's chakra sync'd with his Susanoo when he stabilized it, so his jutsu would have been amplified, seals or no seals.

Shinra tensei. Or whatever pein used to destroy the village but instead of push it was pull. But since madara is an edo he can put as much into it since he doeant have to worry about his life force draining. Also we dont know what nagato would of been capable of if he wouldve been around longer after he awakened his full power as an edo.

One could assume it's a technique or jutsu that requires several hand seals to be used at once; Basically needing mastery over the Asura Path for. Though, Susano'o seemed to work perfectly as well.

Lets see, Madara activates Rinnegan and then uses Susanoo together to pull them. The most logical speculation is that he uses Bansho Tenin and powers up the gravitational force using large amount of chakra which is Susanoo.
