How does Madara know the seal for Edo Tensei?

He should have been dead by the time the second hokage had created it, and if not how would he have found out the seals when he was an outcast of Konoha? I have a feeling that this is a small hint that in the future will help explain Tobi's identity

Seeing how Tobi has quite some knowledge of Edo Tensei... he knows what the jutsu is made for, and this weird seal... + the only weakness of the jutsu i think he was around when the jutsu was created, or witnessed Tobirama using it.
And it's not impossible seeing how Hashirama was Tobirama's brother... and they were around the same age... We had Madara and his brother on the uchiha side and Hashirama and his brother on the senju side.
