Why would he need the eye to see for it to awaken to Rinnegan. That's not a good assumption to make. He still has the eye, it's just blind....

It's a world where Nine-Tailed foxes exist and you're trying to put logic. Gaining the Rinnegan must've got his sight back, or he used one of the many dead Uchiha's eyes to get implanted. It's not exactly a hard concept to figure out...

That is the thing you discuss about? What about the time triggered rebirth that seems more of a bullshit attempt than that the Sage's pure chakra is able to restore your body. Hell Naruto probably could fix a blind eye and he has only half of the Sage's power.

did we all forget that he took his brother's eyes

I thought he had EMS at that fight, if he didn't have EMS at that fight then yeah. EMS should override the blindness aspect.

It's not a plot hole if you think about it. Izanagi orginated from a Rinnegan technique Creation Of All Things and with that Jutsu The Sage of six paths used it and to create the tailed beasts and when we see him we see he still has his Rinnegan intact.

Doesn't make any sense. He sacrificed his right eye to Izanagi and ends up having 2 Rinnegan down the road. How is that possible?

If he simply implanted a Sharingan from another Uchiha and was able to upgrade that one to a Rinnegan as well, that is really stupid and a bit of an ass pull. But hey... the whole manga is starting to go to crap so it doesn't really surprise me.

And woohoo, next chapter Naruto gets another asspull jutsu out of absolutely no where! Yay!

Yeah, this rinnegan thing is a big mystery. If Madara burned out one of his eyes using Izanagi, how does he still have a working Rinnegan? The best answer I can come up with is that The power of Hagoromo (along with the healing powers of Ashura) somehow restored his eye when the Rinnegan woke up. I don't think we will get an explanation of it, it's too small an issue and the manga is close to ended.

Well it's not that big of a mystery, you pretty much just answered how it happened yourself, or at least how it should have happened based on what we know. He lost his light in his right eye(which means even EMS can not use Izanagi more than once btw, to all those people who thought it could), then he put Hashi(Ashura) DNA into himself, awakening the Rinnegan when he was close to death. The transformation into Rinnegan, plus Ashura and Indra's chakra, is most likely why he has Rinnegan in both eyes when he awakens it. Naruto made Kakashi a brand new eye out of nothing, and Naruto only has half of the Sage's power, Madara has his complete power basically, it would stand to reason that he would get Rinnegan in both. And be able to see.

I dont really know why people are saying Senju DNA would make a eye be healed from blindness, But yes they do not go blind and can be used way more extensivly with the Senju DNA, Technically when he fought Hashi with his EMS they were Izuna's eyes so in the end all he really needed was a right eye Sharingan because ethier way he had both the DNA of the Uchicha and Senju what should concern people one of his OLD eyes back and then later he gave them to nagato, Which could explain when he met Obito he had ONE eye and that would have been the third.

Point is that transplanting a new eye is not possible because he had EMS/ Rinnegan at the same time. So there is no way he transplanted a new eye or else he would have lost his EMS. The possibility of Rinnegan activating healed his blind eye is possible though.

It doesn't matter. Itachi was essentially blind, but his eyes still allowed Sasuke to awaken the EMS once they were implanted. My guess is that when he awakened the Rinnegan, the eye 'healed'.
Pretty sure this case should answer your question. The eye itself is probably unimportant as the changes come from the special brain chakra in uchihas.
