he beat half that list.... effortlessly. How is that overrating him?

Been the same power since Part 1....
Firstly, respecting someone for their virtues, especially in the manner that they did, does not correlate to fighting or comparative power.

Secondly, he only fought 7 of the 19 characters that you listed, and he only "solo'd" 2 of them. Even then, those were weaker versions of said characters.

Finally, somebody with sense on this thread.

He is there to make uneducated kids pretend and flatter themselves like they know squat about literature.
So the likes of Owarij, Strict, Blaze Release and Flori Glori are uneducated kids who pretend to be intelligent about literature?
Nothing special, just the preacher of garbage that is "will of fire"s in shadows.
Funny thing is that is what the vast majority of characters do, preach/practice the "will of fire". Even Lee has the"will of fire".

Sesshomaru was actually pretty lame, lol. Inuyasha as a whole was quite lacking.

Yeah, Itachi is by far Kishimoto's work at its best. Best written character in the Manga, in my opinion, and to be honest, i think Kishimoto intended it to be that way. His story started, culminated and ended perfectly. Probably the only character, from the beginning to the end, that was developed nigh-flawlessly. It's seriously not easy to pull of a perfect death, then revive the same character, and give him an also equally perfect end.

Itachi is undoubtedly a big part of the reason why i'll remember this Manga with good, despite how it's currently going ("bad" is an understatement), and probably won't rate it below a 7/10. Creativity and originality, a.k.a Itachi Uchiha.
^I agree. U_U
