Genjutsu affects one or more of the 5 senses:
Vision, Hearing, Smell, Touch, Taste.

Does he shoot chakra from his finger that reaches his opponent?
He doesnt make physical contact with his finger.

How does finger genjutsu work.

How do you summon meteors out of the sky?

How do you seal a giant animal into a small baby?

How do you shoot flames out of your eyes?

You really dont get my point.

You dont need to make physical contact with sharingan, because the genjutsu comes from the eye contact, the vision.

Genjutsu affects one or more of the 5 senses, so that finger, has to affect one of them.

Fingers dont have an eye, so its not vision.
I assume he doesnt have a smelly finger lol, so its not smell.
He doesnt put it in your mouth, so its not taste.
He doesnt make physical contact with it, so its not touch.
His finger doesnt sing , so its not hearing.

So the question is a normal question.
How does this finger genjutsu work.

It doesnt have to follow in real life logic or rules.
I am not asking for such things.
