Hiruzen fight against orochi was part 1 where strenght was differently measured + emotions

Not to say I think that hiruzen would win, I actually am very unsure but those are just the arguments that come to mind

Danzo doesn't exactly have complete control over Hashi's cells...that and Hiruzen would surely be familiar with Mokuton anyhow. The problem that Danzo poses is in the Sharingan's ocular techs, although Hiruzen must know about KA, not too sure about Izanagi though.

By all the moves we have seen so far from the pair, Danzo would shit on Hiruzen but, but honestly even DANZO himself stated that he could never reach Hiruzen. We all can only imagine what Danzo meant by that but what's true is that he did meant that Hiruzen was ahead of him, Danzo sincerely wanted to know what Hiruzen really thought of Danzo.

The hype Hiruzen gets in the manga indicates that he'd be at least at Danzo's level in his prime, likely a decent amount higher really.

But if we're talking old Hiruzen he's really deteriorated. He still has the skill he had in his past (holding off Orochimaru and two Hokages on his own is pretty impressive) but he can't hold his own for an extended period of time and Danzo with the hax he carries is most likely too much for an aged Hiruzen to take down.
