How does a character's strength affect the way you view them?

And if a character's being relatively weak does affect the way you view them in a negative way, how do you reconcile that with your relative "strength"?

Not much really, I just like them for their personality and traits. If they're powerful, I guess that's an added bonus.

When Hashirama was basically a non-OP character he hardly had any fans. When Tobirama was basically a non- OP character he hardly had any fans.

But its funny that people want to call me a "wanker" or whatever when I have been a Hashirama fan since part 1. rofl.

This. I love Lee's back story and personality, and I love Tobirama's personality. I personally find both Lee and Tobirama hilarious.

It depends on how a character uses his power. A character who can backup his words with power is certainly appealing.

It depends on what character you refer to. If it is a main hero, deutertagonist or villain, then I expect them to be incredibly powerful. If it is a side character that doesn't have much significance, like most of the Konoha 11, then it doesn't matter much.

Not me , power is the last thing I worry about , I look for personality , back story , development etc ..........will always be loyal to my character & won't wank a new one just because she/he did something special .

I prefer Lee to the Raikage but the Raikage is stronger than Lee.
Strength is one factor but not the most important factor and in some cases isn't even a factor (see Death Note although I guess you could say "abilities" instead of strength).

doesn't matter to me. I've been a madara fan sense naruto and sasuke fought at the valley of the end and i saw his statue and decided to look up who he was. back then madara was just another uchiha no stronger then sasuke or itachi in my eyes but i just instantly liked him. same for tobirama his character design made me a fan

This really.

Lee and Neji fan since day one. They had always been among my faves because of their characterization, backstory and how they fit in the crafted universe. The only power related thing i like about them is them having cool fighting styles, being skilled ninja who take things seriously and how they become stronger despite obstacles.
