How do you upload a picture on this site? I tried the uploading through a jpg but the literal link for the jpg showed up.

You need to upload it first to image hosting sites such as photobucket, Flickr, and imageshack
Then put the image URL in the image button

Actuay now you can directly upload a pic from your computer.Just click on the third from the end pic/button and choose upload from computer and then open the pic you want.

I think that works for avatar, but not for sigs and thread images.

I've used it in a thread and I think in sigs too.
I noticed that option about two weeks ago,I am not sure if it is new plugin on the site or only an option for older members or contest winners or something like that.But I can use it hmmu

Wow that would be a convenient feature.
Too bad most of us, me included, don't have that option.
