Sasuke goes for chidori but naruto already has an underwater clone that comes up and uppercuts sasuke but still takes the chidiri hit. Naruto struggling prepares his fist to give one last blow to sasuke, sasuke before being struck uses deva path to blow Naruto back. As both are out of breath and lay on the water floor sasuke and Naruto both stagger to their feet and fall. Naruto remembers back how he believes that if sasuke and him fight they would both die. Naruto now knowing the full extent of this believes and questions if he can really save his friend. Sasuke has a flashback and wonders why Naruto wont die. They both rush at each other with flashbacks *again* about the time they both locked fingers as a sign of friendship and smiling. But Naruto strikes sasuke on the forehead again and sasuke strikes naruto in the chest knocking him out. Sasuke sees an opportunity to kill Naruto but he finds out that he can't, he remembers all the struggle Naruto goes through for him but he casts this aside finally and realizes that he is doing what must be done until the sage Madara intervenes shocked sasuke looks at the villain and wonders how he still lives but it is too late sasuke hand with a chidori already pierced madara. Madara TNJs sasuke about the uchiha clan curse and how sasuke us making the same mistake his predecessors did. Madara comments that he and sasuke and now even and that he should become a new beckon on light for the Uchiha. As madara takes his dying breath sasuke thinks about this and tries the thought that maybe he and naruto's plan can coincide with each other. Sasuke claps his hands together and uses the tail beasts to dispell IT and uses rinne of rebirth this kills him but hagoromo appears before him and asks saauke if his answer has changed, sasuke agrees and the sage is happy that the curse has been broken. Naruto's body emits a yellow aura and sasuke's emits a blue aura that take the visage if ashura and indra the sage is happy to be with his sons and that they forgiven him. The sage brings sasuke back to life and comments that the cycle of hatred is broken but fears a new evil will arrive. He disappears with his sons and sasuke as well. Naruto wakes up with no recollection of what happened but realizes that He's not dead and IT is dispelled. Naruto reunites with Sakura and kakashi both asking where sasuke went and Naruto saying how he's gone. Sakura deeply saddened by this applauds naruto's effort for trying. The tree for IT disappears and everyone goes back the way they were jubilating that the war is over and praises Naruto.
Epilogue:Naruto has become a beckon of light that protects all he holds dear. Sasuke is the dark protecting people in the shadows and punishing evildoers.
