How do you get a date to Homecoming?

Well, since Homecoming is coming up for my school, I wanted to know how I could get a date. I'm on pretty good terms with quite a lot of females from my school. It's just that aren't necessarily attracted to me in that way. So, I'm asking NB, what's the best way to ask someone to Homecoming?

Note: We're just freshmen, and I'd prefer if we stayed at that level. There's this really hot junior, but she's out of my league.
