how do you become a mod

ok i've been wondering this for a good while since i joined (3 or 4 months ago i sort of lost track). "how does one become a mod". im going to admit i don't have a clean slate i have the occasional warning and point removed (the last one just 3 weeks ago) for spamming self admitingly i when i do that i don't really mean too. i made one troll thread back in apirl the 1st. so if i don't qualify or anything i'll understand and go my way im not going to fight about it at all.

please be gentle im just asking how to become one ok maybe i want to be one. thats because i look up to them a little.

Well, first you have to be an old and trusted member. It depends on what type of mod you want to be. To the best of my knowledge, RP mods are chosen when there is an opening and the person is an amazing rper and has been rping for awhile. Smods are chosen from within the ranks of regular mods.

You have to have good knowledge of the rules. Don't cause trouble for the staff. Have an ok knowledge of how vB works. The list goes on and on.

This question has been asked so many times over the years in so many different threads, that NB doesn't have the capacity to show them all.

You don't simply become a mod. Mod applications are not something that is open all the time, but when the staff needs new moderators in different forum sections, which either happens by someone stepping down or climbing the ladder (to Gmod) or when NB simply needs more staff members to better cover up old "positions" or to expand on new ones.
I get that you're still a new member, but if you had used the search bar, you would have got your answer long time ago.

There are also some qualifications you need to have to become one, like how long you've been a member, how many posts you have, your reputation and how much you have contributed to the NB forum in general by helping other people. Not only that, but you have to have some experience in the different categories that you can apply to (when open), like if the application for RP moderators are set up, you need to have some experience in NB Rping in general, be at a certain rank and/or hold a title like sensei, etc.

These applications are very rare, and in general, it is NB and the admins who puts up the applications for members to apply, not the other way around.

And most importantly, like many staff members have stated in the past in older threads about the same topic, "If you had to ask how to become a moderator, you have already failed on the qualifications to become one."
