When you register to vote (Texas for example) you are obligated to show the following:

- Your states driver's license number.

- A personal identification number from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

- Your Social Security number

That should be enough for me to be able to walk up vote and leave, no hassle.

Voter ID's can be a bad thing.

Voter ID's can be stolen and used depend on the type of card. (meaning if someone dies and there is not a picture on the ID there will be voter fraud)
Voter ID if people are chosen depending on who gets to use them, everyone will lose their right to vote.

so it all depends on how it is distributed and used.

That's what I was thinking. And it is required (where I live) that you show some form of ID at the polls when voting.

Where not talking about the world, were talking about the United States of America. It is the governments duty to provide it's people the means and accessibility to vote, small town or not. It's just like how a police officer runs you license plates or DL #, quick and easy process.

Once you register for voting once and having gone through all the legal proceedings you shouldn't need to have a voter ID too vote. Your data is meant to be stored in the computer data background. I have already registered i dont need to show certification each time. This is because the information is stored on a computer database where all the records are kept. It is a basic right of any american. Buying plane tickets is not..
