How do I make round cornered pictures?

It's a simple one except for me. I cannot for the life of me get rounded cornered pictures. I can get rounded corners on the image but I still have the white spots on the edges and I just what me a nicely smooth round shape. Help please?

If youre using photoshop you can highlight the image and right click to choose 'feather'.Type in your desire pixel (size) and Voila!Sexy round corner

I dont really get what you meant though anyway try it...xD

Ok thanks I'll try that out. See in my sig I wanted to finish the picture by giving it round corners but I still have those white spots in the back/edge if you look closely. It's barely visible atm but I want to know how to do it properly for future references.

Make sure there is no background, make a layer with your pic, and save it as a .png.
