There are several other contests where you can obtain a cyan name, even some which don't require any special skill, you just have to be original.

And a colored name is a privilege, so obviously you have to do something for it to get it =/

Anyways:

Blue = male mod
Pink = female mod*
Green = super mod/global mod (both genders)*
Red = admin (both genders)*

=> you need to become part of the staff

Purple = designers => become an official NB designer
Black with yellow glow and star = premium users => buy premium membership

*female staff members also have sparkles in their names, which distinguishes them easier when they're global mods or admins.
