Brain activities
This ^^Being blind or deaf does not mean the brain can't conjure images from their own mind during REM sleep.
People who were blind from the eyes but still retained the sciatic nerves are still able to "see" without seeing, e.g. they know if something is there and will pass by it without bumping into it. By using their other senses like touch, they can make accurate guesses as to what something looks like (color excluded).
