Tobi being Obito was too obvious. I know people who saw Tobi for first time, and already guessed it was Obito at that moment. Honestly, I expected Kishi to do much more of a work out of it.

I don't get it. Kakashi was surprised to see a Sharingan, it didn't mean it had to be Obito's.
I think most had the theory that it was Obito or could be but the more time went by the more we started thinking it
was someone different just so that Kishi could surprise us better. Well, I guess some were surprised xd

Agreed. Still I don't think it was a let down, but it took too long just to see it was Obito. It was obvious he had a similar ability to Kakashi and the name was obvious.
However, the ability, many thought was for sure from Obito's eye, but still it didn't have to be Obito himself.

I don't think the people who thought it wasn't Obito were the simpletons, rather the opposite. That it was Obito was simply too simple for many to accept.

And Madara did actually say "I awakened these eyes shortly before my death" and I guess that is what led people away from thinking it was Obito too.
And still to this date, this quote doesn't make any sense because he died way later than after having just awakened his Rinnegan..

I remember exactly how it was, and the theory of Obito was on the minds of everyone, but we deemed it too simple to be true. It was too obvious
