my favourite character is naruto. he became my favourite due his strong power of belief although all the konoha people did not like him and considered him a niusance but still he did not give up and wanted to become the hokage. they hated him but he did not show any hate towards them and did not take revenge from them. and now everyone encourages him and he is gonna become the strongest kage ever not only of konoha but of the whole ninja world. dattebayo!!!

Naruto: for the same reason as you mentioned above.
Sasuke: Initially didn't think about him at all but after the "mission in the land of waves" episode where he saved naruto from chain gang started liking him for his attitude, cool persona, intelligence and many other qualities.
Itachi: Dont need a reason. Woke up one day and realised "GOD, Itachi is my favourite character.
