How did this work?

So during the Oro v Hiruzen fight, Oro begins to use Edo to revive the 1st, 2nd, and 4th. Hiruzen prevents the fourth from being revived, but wasn't his soul sealed with the Death Reaper with the 9 tails originally.

I feel like I'm missing something because this is too obvious... but if I am I'd love to be reminded, and if not, wtf.

It's not possible for anyone other than the user to stop edo tensei, Minato couldn't be revived because he had sealed himself not because the 3rd stopped the jutsu.

Yeah, the story at first was that Hiruzen prevented the Fourth, and since the Fourth was number one badass back in the beginning of the manga, Hiruzen was like "Thank the lord, I prevented the third coffin".

Fast forward 400 chapters later, Kabuto reveals that Hiruzen didn't stop shit and Minato was just sealed, which Hiruzen should've known, I mean like he was right there... so... yeah.

OT: I know what you mean, Minato was sealed, BUT Hiruzen himself said that "I was able to stop him in time"

My answer, Hiruzen thought Oro could summon Minato out of the Seal, so he made some other Jutsu that didn't have any effect yet he thought it was the reason that Oro didn't succeed in bringing Minato back.

OR it was just an overlooked mistranslation.

Yes, he had. That's why when hiruzen sealed them with the rds he was all like. "this way, you can never be forced to fight this way again". Or "now you can rest in peace" or something like that
