How did the 1st beat Madara???

I mean if you think about it Hashirama is known for his powerful wood techs.
Okay now what is the number one enemy of TREES??? FIRE. What burns down a forest in seconds??? FIRE. Isnt Madara one of the strongest Uchiha + he had the 9 tails on his side...what ever happened to just spamming fire techs all day and burning down Hashirama..I mean I dont get how with a matchup like this Madara coulve lost.

I mean...Madara has Fire release...!!!!


EDIT: Since no one seems to get it... I am in no way saying that Madara is stronger than Hashirama I am just saying he had a slight elemental advantage and the 9 tails on his side which can only give him ahigher chance of winning. YET HE STILL LOST. My question is how the fuq does Madara lose with such an advantage when they were both considered equal in terms of skill.

Yes but he is known for his expert wood usage! Madara can easily cancel his strongest techs with a simple fore tech.

Their fight is BS madara should have won. He could have spammed Ameratasu, Susanoo and Tsy. EMS?!? ALso he had the 9 Tails!!!

Hashirama was said to be insanely powerful, his wood release could be burned, but this is a bit beyond the point, as he would of most likely used his mokuton as a defense, like Yamato, and as long as this withstands the initial blast it does its job, and when using it offensively the aim (I believe) is to either restrict movement, (no chance for hand seals) or things like flower world (real name escapes me) in which its effect would not be stopped by fire. As well as just mokuton, Hasirama also used water (water+ground = wood) so he probably would have been able to counter Madara's firejutsu. Along with all these his supreme healing abilities and huge chakra pool may of helped. This is all I can say, as we have not actually seen him fight

Woulve made more sense if Tobirama woulve been the one to kill Madara. Since Water > Fire.

I get that Im just trying to point out that Madara had the upper hand and still LOST. Which can only mean that hashirama was on another level of power not matched by anyone now in present time in naruto or in the past.

i agree 100% i find it hard to think that the 1st won without help the 9tail and madara should of been overkill.lately things been contradicting itself but it's what every hopefull they explain it more.

madara back then didn't have rinnegan or wood release.
so far we saw that he had EMS and fire release (of course there should be more.)
about the part that fire is the worst enemy of wood,

elemental advantage isn't the only factor. if the technique is powerful it can win even if it has elemental disadvantage.

as you see sasuke's grand fireball couldn't do anything to haku's ice
if ice has a chance against fire, wood definitely has too

And what I'm saying is that all Hashirama has to do to counter Madara's fire is use water.... Wood style is a combination of Earth style and Water style.
