This is a serious question. People excuse Sasuke's current performance against Kaguya by saying that Sasuke was the star in the Madara fight. My question is this:
How exactly was Sasuke the star? Think about the events of that fight.
1st: Naruto owned Madara with pure speed and then lava style rasenshuriken. This actually did some damage and was effective. It made Madara resort to absorbing the shinju.
Next: Sasuke came and started showcasing the power of his rinnegan. During this fight, Sasuke managed to have Madara get stabbed by that sword and then he later managed to cut Madara in half. Those sound like good feats right? The only problem is:
Neither of these things actually did any real damage to Madara! Madara didn't even care when he got cut in half!
Some people like to say that Madara had to resort to getting his rinnegan, but Madara had planned to do that anyway! Therefore, that is no feat to make Madara go after his rinnegan.
When Madara came back with both rinnegan eyes, he used multiple limbo clones as well as chibaku tensei. Naruto took on the limbo clones while Sasuke took on the chibaku tensei meteorites. However, Sasuke didn't even shine when doing this really! Here is why:
After fighting with the limbo clones, Naruto then proceeded to single handedly wipe out more chibaku tensei meteorites per attack with his bijuudama rasenshurikens than Sasuke wiped out with his perfect susanoo. The fact that Naruto both fought the limbo clones and then proceeded to wipe out more meteorites than Sasuke shows that Naruto definitely outclassed Sasuke in that instant.
To add the final insult to injury, Madara won that fight!!!! Madara actually won the fight that was supposedly Sasuke's time to shine! He won by successfully casting infinite tsukuyomi! Black Zetsu killed Madara (not Naruto or Sasuke).
Now, I am not saying that Sasuke didn't do anything well in that fight. After all, he did deduce the mechanics behind limbo and he protected team 7 from the infinite tsukuyomi, but that is about it.
Let us review:
1. Madara didn't even care about Sasuke's attacks while Naruto's and Guy's actually did severe damage.
2. Madara was going to go get his rinnegan any way, so that can't be used as an excuse.
3. Naruto out shined Sasuke during Madara's onslaught after he got both rinnegan eyes.
4. Madara won the fight that Sasuke was supposed to shine in.
5. Black Zetsu killed Madara, not Sasuke.
