This makes the most sense, he couldnt maintain a broken shinsuusenju for long so instead of continuting to use it he simply hopped off to finish him with his own hands.

You can see in the next panel of their fight that both were exhausted, meaning that hashi couldnt use shinsuusenju even if he wanted to. Madara probably couldnt use his sharingan either.
