Madara said he get Rinnegan shortly before he died, so how did he manage to revive himself to give Nagato Rinnegan? Using Outer Path at the right moment?

Those pipes that are connected to his back (chakra's), I believe it is the same thing that Nagato used to connect himself to the Outer Path to live.

So what I'm saying is he "died" and got Rinnegan, he sucked chakra from the Gedo Mazo to live and gave Nagato the Rinnegan so that he can live, hoping Nagato will revive him. Knowing he will die soon.
