[Discussion] How Did Madara Give Nagato The Rinnegan?

I'm not going to lie, I don't know everything about Naruto, so this may be a stupid question. But how exactly did Madara give Nagato the rinnegan? When I think about him giving Nagato the Rinnegan, I think of it as the same way Obito gave Kakashi his sharingan; an eye transplant.

But when Nagato first used his Rinnegan when he was a kid, and I don't see any eye transplant scars on Nagato. Also if Nagato was that young, why did Madara choose Nagato over all the other kids in the Narutoverse? Was it because he was a Uzamaki?

Or by "giving" Nagato the rinnegan, does he mean he helped Nagato awaken it? If so, does that mean he some how started the Second Shinobi War, and somehow knew Nagatos parents' would be killed, which would anger him enough to awaken the Rinnegan?

Gahh I don't know. Someone help.

Yahiko died at an age of 25-30 (which has been stated in the handbook) in the third war.

So by this assumption Nagato was 25-30 AT LEAST before the start of the manga (12 years ago we know this because that's how old Naruto is when it starts and Minato became Hokage because of his work in the third war.)

This would make Nagato at least 37-42 when Naruto was 12. Making Nagato 40-45 when he died.

If Obito is about the same age as Kakashi (30 in this arc) then he COULD NOT have given Nagato the Rinnegan as he WAS NOT BORN YET.

As per math done above, Madara would have been without his eye for at least like 20 years (Nagato being 10-15 years old by time Obito was born + Obito being at minimum age of 10 when he was crushed. (I'm not sure how old he was at the time when Madara rescued him.))

We need more info I'm not saying it wasn't Madara, just saying Madara would have been without his eyes for awhile and maybe found replacements.

No idea. Because I don't believe that he even needed to transplant his own eyes. We saw Tobi give the eye to all the Jubbi, we saw Nagato transfer his eyes over to his 6 paths. So I don't believe Madara actually had to give up his eyes in order to transfer them over, he just did whatever Nagato and Tobi would do at a later date, and the proceedure will probably won't be entirely explained as to how they could do this.
