I know it's sure as hell not Hashirama he definetly cannot take on Madara's rinnegan and ems...
Sarutobi took on 1st, 2nd edo, and orochimaru, defeated both of them and almost taking orochimaru down.
soo.. how did it end for madara? :shrug:

Madara awaken the rinegan shortly before his death. It is reasonable that Madara almost died but because of some special ability of the rinegan he could stay a little longer (even though 1st certain his death) and made a plan to come back. On the other hand, if Madara totally survive in the highest fight, he can recover by the ability of rinegan and do not wait more than 50 years.

From what Hashirama showed us against old Hiruzen, the only way he could compete with EMS madara and the kyuubi was by using bijuu himself. And as of now, EMS madara hasn't shown anything really impressive or unbeatable, just his rinnegan makes him extremely op.

madara cannot go ems lvl because tobi got his eyes .the same way sasuke got itachi eyes,itachi can only use his ms skill.So ms is the only eyes edo uchiha can use .Rinnegan is another lvl by itself that he was able to use it together with his own ms skill

Hve you forgotten Kabuto said he was completed beyond his prime? This staement clearly proves Madara can use all of his abilities, he just used Rinnegan because Kabuto wants to see a fraction of what the Sage's power could do, so he had Madara activate Rinnegan, not because he cant use he EMS abilities.

Maybe tobi is zetsu, or friends with him. ( We saw that tobi is part of zetsu)

I'm not sure if people have forgotten about this, but wasnt hashiramma the only person capable of controlling the tailed beast(Tsunades necklace) and even though tobi used the fox on the assault of the village, im quite sure hashiramma was pulling the strings on the fox in that fight. Also another thoery on hashiramma, Tsunade is his granddaughter, so is her strength a lesser version of his???

He probably died a year after the battle.

First he took the 1st hokage's cells and started his planning in secrecy, he most likely based himself in amegakure seeing as nagato is from there (and its the best hiding spot since no one infiltrates amegakure).

Why does everyone think the sharingan is so op? Ok it is but i mean senju are all op aswell...

Madara prime was during hashirama battle at VotE. Against ems im sure hashirama used his trees just like gaara used his sand as an internal attack to flush him out of susanoo.

If madara had s/t then so what? 4th and 2nd were known to possess s/t and 1st was 2nd's brother and kage before him, so im guessing hashirama was acquainted with s/t jutsu.. I mean he recognized edo-tensei, and kabuto said the 2nd created that jutsu(chpt 520), so i think its at the least plausible that hashirama knew s/t jutsus.

Sharingan can control the fox, but hashirama was also famous for controlling the bijuu(Chpt 458)

Madara had epic genjutsu? Yeah the 1st pwnt the 3rd with a genjutsu that took away his vision!! (Chpt 122)

I really dont know why so many people are underestimating hashirama... Im sure that he could have defeated madara. Rinnegan is powerful, but naruto defeated a rinnegan, althought pein's wasnt near madara's. You cant use ninjutsu against rinnegan, but he wouldnt even need ninjutsu since he probly had same strength(chakra control) tsunade had.

I think its so obvious that hashirama defeated madara...

Now this part is basically just theory, but it explains his death.
Madara stated that he obtained rinnegan shortly before his death, so i rate in the battle at VotE when madara was about to die he unlocked rinnegan, just like the first form of sharingan is unlocked in a dire situation, but hashirama was still able to defeat him.

More theory...
Madara survived the battle, but was on his deathbed, mortally wounded. Even with the cells he received from hashirama he could not heal himself. So he created clone called tobi.

Thats the only thing that makes sense to me in regards to who tobi is and how madara died.

Hopefully kishi-sama will explain more... lol and sorry for long post
