How did Madara and Izuna figure out....

did anyone ever wonder how Madara and Izuna find out about the MS and EMS? If they were the first to get it, how did they know killing there best-friends would get them the MS....and also that taking Izuna's eyes would get the EMS?

IT was probably a myth or thought before they activated it, and madara's gaining EMS was probably an accident while just trying to see again.

I dont know how they got MS, but i heard this theory that says Madara didn't know Izuna's eyes would grant him EMS, he just took the eyes so he could see again.

Written on the Naka shrine, the higher level dojutsu you have the more you can read, so with MS you can probably read about EMS and so on.
