How did LEE pass the clone jutsu test?

Naruto takes the clone jutsu test so he could graduate. Then I thought how could Lee pass the test if he can't use ninjutsu? :shrug::shrug::shrug:
In order to graduate Lee would've had to pass the clone exam but how could that be possible if he can't use any ninjutsu? :shrug::shrug::shrug::shrug:

clone jutsu was for naruto's class. They might have different jutsu for previous years graduating exam.

Naruto repeated the test three times if I'm not mistaken. I'm pretty sure he knew what he had to do. Also, I don't think that any other test would involve only Taijutsu...

anyways, it was never stated that he passed, i guess gai asked as a favor from hiruzen, to train lee, seeing as how gai is a valuable ninja, its understandable that hiruzen would allow such.
