How Did Kakashi Use Kamui To Hit Obito?

I might be wrong and correct me if i am but obito was hit when kakashi kamuied naruto's rasengan into the other dimension when obito used his technique and that's how naruto actually got a hit on him right. However, isn't this dimension huge.. we've seen the dimension is huge when sasuke and karin were in it. Out of the entire dimension..how did the rasengan magically hit the one area where obito's body was?

It seems to be too convenient, some might say plot no jutsu or whatever but can someone help me out here?

I think you teleport relative to where you are in the real world. so they just aimed for where he was in the real world and attacked that area in the kamui dimension.

that's actually a pretty good way of how it could have happened..then it could have worked on obito at the bridge where danzo died and he came to bring back sasuke from fighting naruto and kakashi. However, obito claimed it to be useless and they were relatively close in the real world
