How did Itachi survive Kirin?

Well it can go either way:

If you believe that Itachi pulled of Yata Mirror to block it, then it dehype Yata Mirror's Databook statements and put limit on it. Kirin is the most powerfull attack Yata Can tank.

else, Itachi probably pulled at least v3 Sussano(Complete, not Final) and it tanked Kirin but was destroyed in process.

Yes it could suggest that Sussano can tank one CASUAL(not Large but the most often usable without charging tailed beast bomb)

However it won't save Sussano user from Large TBB or Barrage of Tbb

Anyway nice thread , I am curious myself did Itachi pull out Yata or just used Sussano and each version

Maybe Kirin = TBB, but while Kirin takes time and effort to prepare, a TBB can be fired in seconds.

It hasn't been stated ANYWHERE, exactly NOWHERE that Kirin is to be compared with a TBB.

But Itachi surviving it was plot, i know the Susano'o could've tanked it, but he didn't even activate it.
There was no time to do so, if he did we would've seen it.
