During his fight with Sasuke, it was stated Itachi wanted to push Sasuke past his limit in order to draw out Orochimaru. But how did he know Sasuke had absorbed Oro? The rumor was that Sasuke had killed Oro, no one knew he had absorbed him. If even Taka, who was with Sasuke the most during that time, didnt know, how the hell did Itachi know?

Because itachi knows everything he's the smartest character. He plans months maybe even years into the future

so here's whats most likely: I'm betting that Itachi knew about the body-transfer technique. Since it's simple--go into another body and take it over--there's no doubt Itachi knew that Orochimaru's failure to take over meant he was stuck in Sasuke's body. In fact, i'm sure Itachi had been planning on that happening ever since he found out Sasuke even went to Oro for training. Still, i suppose one could wonder how he knew he managed to live long enough to actually perform the body transfer, but Itachi probably also knew about Oro's true body's snake form and the poison it gave off, which would allow him to stun any victim and allow him to enter their body/conciousness. There's also the very likely possibility that Itachi's MS allowed him to see Oro's chakra--afterall, during the fight Itachi said "remember these eyes can see the color of chakra." so i'm sure there are actually several ways in which Itachi knew this.
