How did Black Zetsu pierce Madara's body?

We all know Black Zetsu fodderized Madara in 1 panel with a single blow, but how did he do that? Madara survived 8th Gate Night Guy, Lava Rasen Shuriken, Sasuke's sword and many things. He tanked all of those with a single eye.

How did a weak featless Zetsu managed to pierce Madara's skin? He wasn't even hyped by anybody unlike Kaguya, who was confirmed to be strongest being even before she appeared on the stage. If Black Zetsu was capable of taking over the plot, why didn't he act earlier before?

If Madara gets pierced by a Zetsu, what did he truly achieve by wielding 3 rinnegan and having Juubi inside? Was all of Madara's power ups simply a joke? Does a Juubi Jinchuuriki have this bad durability?

I dislike Madara a lot personally, but Zetsu being able to harm Madara even in the slightest is beyond me

The reason why Zetsu didn't act right away is due to the fact that Madara either wasn't at full power yet (obtaining the third eye) or in order to revive Kaguya,her soul most be released fully from the moon.

Also Madara let his guard down for that blow.
