What I don't get is why they had to hide the truth from Sarada.

I mean, I personally know a few women who, for one reason or another, raise kids that aren't their own (from their husbands' previous marriages, for example). Those kids aren't just totally fine with that, they consider their adoptive mothers to be their true mothers. So it's not that unusual of a situation. I'm pretty sure they could have explained things to Sarada, but no, we had to have the drama, I guess.
