The heart is just a biological pump. What you are referring to is the limbic system and if Sakura had gone all the way with those drives, the most predictable and sensible course of action would have been to reproduce with Sasuke and then form a pair-bond with Naruto. After-all thats what women like Sakura do in the real world: mate with the "alpha" male (who have no need to form a single pair-bond) and then have the "nice guy" raise your children. The strategy makes excellent sense from an evolutionary perspective.
