How could Neji defeat Madara ?

It can be the other way around.

think of Hagoromo as the occular power while Hamura is the physical power.

So considering Madara awaken his rinnegan by injecting Hashi cells into his body, I take it that the same goes for Hamura's side of the fam.

Except this time everyone knows about it and the "senju" side of the fam are the ones taking the byakugans, hence the seals on the branch family like the one Neji has.
