Tobi wasn't in combat, he didn't need to turn intangible, he could have let his whole body chill intheir dimension.

Tobi was not intangible then. If he was then he would get hurt. Why would tobi be intangible at the time when kakashi warped the clone. He was not in battle. Only when he is intangible does the things warped by kamui hurt him. When he is solid he is unaffected
