[Discussion] How come naruto could never defeat sasuke in a battle?

They fought 3 times(at VOTE,oruchimaru's hideout and at VOTE again)
Sasuke won 2 times and the other time it was a draw. Is that fair though? Naruto is the main character!

Why was he not allowed to win at least once. Why? Why did kishi troll naruto? Why would the main character get his ass whooped twice by the secondary main character twice and not even be able to beat him once?
Sure sasuke lost his fight over ideals, but we all know that the physical fight was a draw.

Why? Is kishi some kind of a sasuke fanboy?

Hospital roof? What ? That was not a fight it was interrupted. At the bridge where danzou suicide? Their chidori and rasengan clashed and that's all that happnd. At VOTE it was obviously a draw. They both were on the floor with one of their arms cut off. The fight had no decisive winnner.

Sasuke admitted defeat, so that means he lost.

OT, Naruto couldn't beat Sasuke until the end because then there would be no final fight. The whole point of the manga was for Naruto to bring Sasuke back to the village. The manga would have been over at part 1 if Sasuke had lost there.

So basically he had to lose to Sasuke so that kishi could milk the series.

well like someone else said, the forst fight at VOTE had to happen that way. plot dictated that sasuke beat naruto at first. i really only count 2 fights they have had. they had that rooftop fight, but it was interrupted and we will never know the outcome of it. orochimaru's hideout was not a fight as naruto didn't even fight back, he just stood there. it was more or less to show that sasuke had gotten much stronger, but it was def not a fight. at the bridge was also not a fight as all they did was clash their jutsu. so it's only been 2 fights that can be truly considered fights. both of which took place at valley of the end. as for why he didn't have naruto "win" their second fight? technically he did. first off, he made naruto conscious after their clash, while sasuke was knocked out. technically speaking, even at great risk to himself, if naruto wanted to kill sasuke he could have. also we have sasuke admitting defeat. why did kishi have it done this way? well the whole point was to end the battle of the brothers. had naruto killed sasuke, the battle would have continued and thus defeating the purpose.

Naruto did beat Sasuke remember not all victories lie in the physical just remember that when making stupid, bait threads like this.

Every battle there lies a deep reason for it and Naruto's was apparent since before their fight began and even before the War, his intent to stop Sasuke thereby preventing and saving the lives of the Kage, The Tailed Beasts which he accomplished which gives him that Victory for without it he would be dead.

1-1 Tie in every sense, Yin / Yang, Good and Evil One does not overcome the other for there wouldn't be balance.

Also Naruto got the last laugh smashing Sasuke into the Wall haha before their Chidori / Rasengan Clash.

He doesn't need to.. Naruto did most of the work against kaguya and Obito..and the edo kages controled by Kabuto..
