It was alluded that Sasuke saw the chakra of Deidara's nanobombs inside of his body, we the readers were given visual representation.
If we take that panel as exactly what Sasuke is seeing, then Sasuke wasn't even seeing the nanobombs' chakra, he was using a combination of x-ray vision and telescopic vision... which only the Byakugan has.

Then again, Sasuke's Sharingan gains and loses abilities as the plot (Kishimoto) demands.

Rinnegan and Sharingan are two different eyes. They do different things. You can't give it sharingan feats. As far as we know it can't do things like sharingan can, eg Genjutsu through eye contact

With that said The Rinnegan should be able to see as much as the sharingan

The byakugan sees chakra networkds while the sharingan sees body and chakra signature and Rinnegan is derived by a combination of both of them that originated from Kaguya. Pein also saw the chakra barrier surrounding Konoha with his Rinnegan.

Of course. I think Nagato for example couldn't use sharingan jutsus because he was given the rinnegan. therefore never was able to use sharingan jutsus.
