Probably has something to do with Obito having been the former Jubi Jin. I mean how is it that after the tailed beast were extracted from him, he as still able to reach in Madara and grab a portion of two tailed beasts, absorb it for a while, then give it to Naruto? I think his former godhood is still affecting him and giving him similar powers to the transmigrants. Itachi on the other had no link to the jubi or SO6P.

Obito once became a shell of the juubi like Hagoromo which has the power of talking to living people (Ex. Naruto and Sasuke)
With Obito dying while still having the chakra of the juubi he is able to do it but not to the extent of Hagoromo
Itachi doesn't have the chakra which is thus impossible
