You heard me right.
How can the movie be canon? Seriously. It's not like the producers, directors, animators will start working on the movie after the manga ends. They must be working on it, right?

So, how come Kishimoto shared the story which will happen after the manga and which clearly speaks that the current fight between Naruto and Sasuke won't last till one's death. Both are shown alive in the movie's character sketches.
And to even start the story of the movie, Kishi must have shared the information from the manga's end, right?
And if it's really canon stuff then how come there aren't any written spoilers, even if it's just a single statement, about the movie?

So tell me what do you guys think?
Is it really canon or non-canon?

Also, going by the words "Tied to a next generation" that are giving a vibe of the arrival of a new generation and the narrator’s words "Towards the future of the original work" and seeing Naruto with an adult figure, it is hinted that a world that is happening after the original work will be drawn in the movie.

If it's canon it means it was written by kishi, who already knows how he is ending the manga.

The sketches do kinda spoil that both of them will survive but that isn't really that surprising anyway.

I'm saying it in reference with the current scenario in the manga.
If the movie is canon.
Means Naruto or Sasuke didn't die at the Valley of the End.
Neither one became Hokage after the battle.

Kishimoto very well couldve shared the ending with the producing staff of the movie.

Also, if the movie is canon, that means kishi never intended to finsish everything in the manga, i.e Naruto becoming Hokage.

Kishimoto may have had the thought to finish the series ina movie from the very beginning.

Or at least brought the idea to attention and changed things accordingly.

The movie could be canon and it would still make sense, however if would ruin the series for anime-only viewers who dont read the manga. That's the only downside to it being canon. But I'm pretty sure if it is , Kishi will have a very good reason.

The tag line was "the movie that connects and goes beyond the manga"

It can't be any more straight forward not too mention on the very same poster it says
Kaguya
IT
Madara
shinju

its referencing the last arc because its a CONNECTION.

Not too mention the hand that naruto had the seal on is bandaged up.

Now you tell me.

It's canon because Kishimoto said it's canon.

Thread solved.

"beyond the manga"
says all. that itself tells what the end of the manga will be.
we got character sketches.
Neither of them seemed to be Hokage. And both are alive as well.
So, the current Naruto vs Sasuke battle is all fail and won't be interesting because we know the results with an unknown reason of what actually happened.

If your going to cite my post cite it fully.
It says "THE ONE THAT CONNECTS AND GOES BEYOND THE MANGA"

And secondly, just because they do not die doesn't mean the fight loses its significance.

Now if you don't have anything else to add this thread is done.

Movie is canon because it referred in manga chapters.

Kishi is writing it.

Enough evidence?

Kishi is the creator. What he says is canon is canon. Doesn't get much simpler than that.

Having watched the other movies before RTN, the characters are canon, but the plots were not canon. The movies were always stand alone projects not related at all to the manga. Kishi was involved in The Road to Ninja (RTN). Elements of the the plot were canon when we got to see a mini version of IT, but that was all. I think the movies are going to continue as separate entities from the manga.

That is just my opinion. RTN movie is probably a more reliable indication of what the new movie will be like.

RtN had timeline plot holes that indicated it wasn't canon.

This movie is being made to be canon, just like the Dragon Ball Z movies that are being made to be canon.

Like the above guy said, Kishi is making it canon; Doesn't get much simpler than that.

The Movie is CANON, the timeline is set on 3 years after the fourth shinobi war ended and the death of Madara Uchiha along with Akatsuki demise.

The timeline is not alternative because the movie is set in the FUTURE BEYOND THE CURRENT MANGA TIMELINE.

Its simple common sense
