How can peace even exist in the ninja world?

A ninja village is equivalent to country's military in the naruto world and their income's main source are people and feudal lords who contract ninjas for all kinds of work like assassinations,protection detail and other stuff. Say two opposing parties hire ninjas from two different villages to do opposing work like like say Lighnting country ninjas have to protect some person and Konoha's ninjas have to kill him( and i'm guessing this happens frequently,ninjas couldn't be catching cats all the time,it doesn't pay well as assassinations) wouldn't that lead to conflict? And someone is going to end up dead? I can't see how ninja villages can be at peace with each other unless they're cool with their guys getting killed in the line of duty by folks from other ninja villages? Plus,what will ninjas do for pay, in peace time,make baby bottles?

There will never, ever be conflict between the Five Great Nations again. The Fourth Great Ninja War cemented that. The relationships between the Five Kage will forever be strong now.

The amount of ninja will indeed diminish. The only threats to peace should only come from smaller nations, independent entities (lone wolves), people from another continent or continents, or something like that.

Conflict isn't the only way Hidden Villages make money. But yeah, times of war boosted their economies.

We all get it...but I'm sure we all get that it's also a Shonen manga that really isn't going to deal with those complexities in detail so we get what we get. :bdpf:

I think Naruto's reign meant the end of feudalism and ninjas just focused on positive missions. I doubt they're gonna be doing the dirty work for a bunch of powerful guys like they used to and instead focus on their people.

It usually have to do with inbetween times where the peace comes in. aside from the actual times where there s conflict. Its not forever ongoing, but it does happen. Some people just don't know how to quit or don't have the capabilities to, like assuma if he would have quit there would've still been a bounty on his head making fighting something that comes up once again in his time. The time inbetween is peaceful. that's where peace comes in. Its just a job at the end of the day.
