Kishi is smart, he's really smart. You can see it just through his writing and art. I was wondering even with the recent news about Bleach, how did JUMP force Kishi to finish at 700? He's a really smart guy and I would think he has the brains to do something about that, I mean at the end of the day Naruto was n.2 Manga in the world, If he said he'd stop drawing what would they do?Fire him?

I'm just really curious on WHY they force these mangaka to stop so soon and how they do it. I mean if they fire them since Bleach and Naruto were/are so big they could have VERY easily published with another company or solo as the two mangaka are millionaires.

I don't think Kishi was forced. At least not to the extent Kubo is facing. Naruto wasn't really top dog in japan, but it had a strong following. Maybe WSJ wanted new series and Kishi was going to end it anyway. Bleach has fell off a lot in popularity. So I can understand that getting forced out.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure Kishi never wanted to wrap the whole story up in 2 damn chapters. Everything got rushed at the end, especially with the chapter 699 with Sasuke leaving so quickly and not getting any other information on the aftermath. I think It would have been better if Naruto ended around 705 or so, 1 or 2 more chapters of the Naruto VS Sasuke fight, then 3 chapters on top of the 700 to wrap it all up. I think then it could have been more detailed.

I think he wanted to end it.

Also kishi has been forced to do several things he would have preferred to happen a different way. So I wouldn't be surprised eitherway.

My guess would be that Kishi doesn't own Naruto, that WSJ does. That would prevent independence. Plus he'd been running a brutal schedule for 15 years, so much so that the Boruto story is based on his own sense of accomplishment as a person and a failing as a father. Perhaps he felt some relief, an opportunity to be with his kids and still having some input into the new manga and the continuing anime he felt that there was enough of a chance to tell the stories he wanted to.

Legality is super weird. Stan Lee made damn near a billion dollars off of the Marvel sale but his co-creator Jack Kirby didn't get anything..

Kishi had the Gaiden/Boruto to fall back on. so Kishi may have allowed himself to quickly finish it off.

To be quite honest, I originally thought Kishi selfishly ended it on 700 himself, considering it was a well established idea that each 100th episode had some special importance to it. It was later I found out he was forced to end it on 700 and I agree it was ill planned.

If anything, Kishi put too much clutter in the war that wasn't needed and then when he had to buckle down and end it by 700... it ended up rushed. Bottom line is that he put too much crap in the war that was not really needed (mostly all the time he wasted delaying Obito's reveal) and didn't spend enough time on the ending.

Ten Ten picking up the weapons Madara dropped. Sasuke not using the powers Hashirama gave him. Minato's really long jutsu we never saw. Madara getting back stabbed was never part of the plan either, it just happened because defeating him then Kaguya in a reasonable manner would be impossible as it would take time. All of these things were suppose to play a part and it was foreshadowed and said, Kishi didn't have enough time to include it as he was forced because if he wasn't why wouldn't he just put his ideas to play?

It's because honestly, although Kishi may seem like a god to some people on here...authors really don't have a whole lot of control over their publishing. 700 may have just seemed a nice number, maybe he got tired of the series- we don't know.

Writers are always secondary sadly.
