How can anyone say that Orochimaru is still planning something evil?

I still think Orochimaru is too twisted to be redeemed.Why about all those experiments he did on people?No good person would do something like that.

It's up in the air, really. We can all make claims but Orochimaru is too wishy-washy at this point. He is by far the most evil character we've seen. His deeds attest to that. But at the same time, there's clearly enough evidence to redeem him. I personally hope he remains evil, but a good Orochimaru wouldn't be too bad.

I agree. I believe that Orochimaru will redeem himself for his past (as much as he realistically can atleast), and ultimately will die during the war. I think Kishi will symbolically have all the former Legendary Sennin dead at the end of the war (sorry Tsunade lovers) to make way for the rise of the new generation. Kishi loves symbolism and I really can't imagine that he wouldn't have Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura surpassing their former teachers and leading the world through its new peaceful reformation. That has Kishi's symbolism written all over it. + rep

His backstory and current revival has always been moving towards the path of redemption. And Kishi's golden rule is that any antagonist in the series with a sob backstory ultimately gets redeemed in the end, Gaara, Sasori, Konan, Nagato, Sasuke,etc.

And Obito/Madara were the ones indirectly responsible for Naruto and Sasuks growing up alone
