It seems pretty small in the maps they show. There's only about 5 well sized land masses.

Is that all of it? Because it looks like it'd be smaller than China.

5 big countries, with many lands full of fodders or relics. Supposedly the verse is on Earth, according to the last:Sparks:

The Shinobi world is pretty small but I don't think that's the entire world. I think kishi tried to emulate early age civilizations where Japanese were more isolated from the western world

A multiverse if you include the other dimensions. The size of the planet is unknown, the size of the countries are unknown, the size of the villages are quite large.

Also those three hidden locations where you can learn sage mode are also different dimensions. They are parallel worlds no where else is there talking animals. So the NV is connected to a lot of parallel universes and such. It would take a month for a ninja to travel to Mt Myoboku and stumble across the secret path which is most likely a space-time path. Suigetsu said Ryuchi Cave was in another dimension.

In other words quite large

It looks pretty small, like a continent. This is why Kishi is shit at world building

Looks like they were going for a super-continent...that is if Nv earth is comparable to the real earth.
