How bad did Hidan get trolled?

Let's face it, a lot of people don't really think Hidan exactly meets up to his peers in the Akatsuki. The guy had pretty good hype when him and Kakuzu killed off the 2 tailed Jin and implied that Kakuzu and Hidan had countless fights, but it's hard to see that come to play. In fact, Kishimoto admitted that he didn't show everything Hidan was supposed to have (Secret Character Sketches Creation from DB 3):

"Hidan uses curses and such, so I wanted him to look similar to a shinigami. That's why he carries a scythe and bones. I originally planned the scythe to have a lot of tricks, but I didn't have time to show all of them..."

Hidan was shown to have amazing skill with his scythe when he combined it with his "rope" for extra mobility. It's too bad that Shikamaru destroyed this with an explosive tag before Hidan could actually use it in combat again during their second encounter. It also seems a bit sketchy that Kakashi was able to fend off Hidan's scythe barrages with a mere kunai when the whole idea of the scythe is to take advantage of its long range (meaning a short range weapon like a kunai probably shouldn't have been able to leave him without a scratch). After seeing Tobi's skills with his war fan and rope extension, I couldn't help but make the same connections with Hidan had he been given the chance. Overall you can probably call this a small rant thread xD discuss?

Hidan just couldn't compare to shikimaru. And that is still my favourite arc even if hidan was trolled

Hidan was very trolled. The guy was awesome and funny.

He probably would have killed Shikamaru if he didn't had that trap ready.

The worst part is, he is immortal and in a hole. The dude is gonna be there FOREVER as a head. If he can really die from lack of nutrients(was this ever confirmed?), then he's lucky cuz being a head in a hole must be boring.

Hidan's mistake was going up against Shikamaru in a one on one after killing his sensei.. NEVER go up against Shikamaru in a one on one after killing his senei! Your fate is sealed from then.

The reason kakashi came out without a scratch is because kakashi is a BOSS!!

He's still in that pit where Shikamaru left him. He can't die so I don't know how he spends his days, because unless someone finds him, he's basically there forever.

Hidan did get trolled to an extent, but the way I see it Shikamaru is Jounin level and he had time to prepare the perfect plan. its kinda been cemented over the series that when Shikamaru has one of his plans thought out, you're pretty much screwed..

Well he underestimated how smart Shikamaru was and didn't know he had a trap planned. And people don't seem to understand that Kakashi is very powerful and talented, so its not to to hard understand on how he didn't get cut. But when Hidan and Kakashi were fighting, he had Kakashi on the defensive the whole time and that's saying something. And Kakashi didn't hit him either.

yeah he got trolled i dont know why akatsuki didnt go get him i mean they know hes in that forest shikamaru just said the deer protect the forest and dont let anyone but the nara clan in but lets face it whats a couple of deer to the akatsuki they should have gotten him and found a new body for him to use

Anyway, yes he got badly trolled. The only other person that got trolled worse imo is Sasori.

Be glad, Hidan is in a position to where he can come back if Kishi decides to make the series longer.


Also, I don't think he was troll.. not that bad at least. Kishi kinda rushed that arc.

Honestly Shikamaru extracting his revenge doesn't bother me since it was his time to shine (everybody complains about the rookies not getting screen tim anyways). Heck I don't think I mentioned Shikamaru other then the fact that he destroyed Hidan's attachment to his scythe xD

Just wish that he could have at least gotten revived so he could show the power that Kishi admit was ignored for speed. To be honest I still can't see how Kakashi could defend against that barrage even if he had twice his taijutsu skill considering that the total length of the kunai is probably smaller than the shortest blade on the scythe lol. I mean that simple fact was the primary reason why Hidan got Asuma's blood in the first place so it shouldn't be overlooked. But their clash was pretty short and he didn't have his rope so I guess it can be accepted.

I know other characters got trolled too xD
