I know that question sounds dumb...so let me clarify. So the sharingan user (I'm saying "user" because not all that had the sharingan were/are Uchihas) need chakra to activate the sharingan and apparently Non-Uchihas waste more chakra using the sharingan that explains why Danzou and Kakashi covering their sharingan eyes. By the looks of this neither Kakashi and Danzou were able to deactivate the sharingan at all. But i wonder if the sharingan eye needs chakra to stay active, and someone transplants a sharingan eye to another person, wouldn't the sharingan eye be deactivated since the eye doesn't have any chakra source?? And if it is deactivated the new holder of the eye can that person activate it?? (I might be wrong on that..if so please tell me)

P.S please dont be a douche an answering...... because this is my first thread i put and I'm hoping to be posting more ;D

I think the Sharingan activates with any chakra, not just the chakra of an Uchiha.
An Uchiha is born with compatibility to the Sharingan, so they don't use as much chakra when it's activated.
However, non-Uchiha are not accustomed to the Sharingan and waste more chakra using it.

In terms of how they're taken, I assume that they remain activated upon death because the user cannot deactivate them.

In Narutoverse some people have very delicate hands so they put them in the Sharingan user's eye socket, rip the eye out and then by some still unknown way they replace their eye with that eye.

Some perverts (read Danzo) manage to place the eyes even in their arms.
Some other perverts (read Obito) store many Sharingan in bottles so they can show "their Sharingan collection" to a girl they invite home :p

The same process is followed with Rinnegan and if you are good enough (read Madara) you can transplant the eye to someone else without them even taking notice :p

Remember the when Itachi fought Sasuke before he died the first time? If you look back at the manga/anime, you'll see Sasuke in Itachi's genjutsu, I think that's how they take out Sharingan eyes.

ahhhh so you're saying that the sharingan eye doesn't deactivate even though it doesn't have any chakra source.... but that sucks that kakashi can't deactivate sharingan himself :/

Well it's Naruto's world!!
We don't know how medical ninjutsu applies in that case but don't try to compare it with real medicine practice.
Medic ninjutsu is applied with chakra so maybe in the process of the transplantation that chakra keep it activated.
Awakening the dojutsu powers and deactivating the sharingan is two different things.Kakashi awakened his mangekyo when he was 14 but only after many years he could use it.

Well I'm not trying to compare but this question has been bugging me say yea and maybe you are right about deactivating and activating sharingan are two different things. probably the person who does the makes sure the sharingan still have a chakra source...who knows we might never know..lol

If a Non-Uchiha implants a Sharingan in their eye it drains their chakra, since to keep the Sharingan active it Burns chakra

The point is that they cannot deactivate it, once it is transplanted the sharingan simply draws chakra from the person and stays in on-mode. If the user decides to use it, they will have to 'pour' in extra chakra to make it perform a jutsu.

The sharingan is a dojutsu meaning it is probably an already active eye technique/ jutsu, and like the rinnegan, as long as the eyes are 'functional' inside a person... then they will simply be active.

Probably the difference between someone born with the dojutsu and one not, is that the one born with it has better control. They can first activate the eyes and then decide to turn them on and off at will, while a secondary 'host' can only constantly provide the sharingan with different levels of chakra, ranging from let's say level 1 (standard chakra flow to the eye) to level x (depends on the user).

For a Sharigan or any eye to be use by a non member of a clan it must be taken and inserted in it's new host active,Both Kakashi and that Guy with the Hyuga eye are prime examples, that is why they both have them covered when not in use or they would die from chakra depletion. The victim must be alive and probably drug, Obito gave His willingly to friend, but enemies must use some kind of drug to keep the eye active for transplant, otherwise the victim would turn it off and the enemies can't use it.
