OT: If you ignore the bullshit OP characters, they're easily one of the most formidable enemies.

Their attacks are low in number, but the sheer simplicity of them makes it so hard to truly out play.

Every second you're engaged in hand go hand combat, you're risking organ failure and your chakra points closing. Even if you won, you might still die if you take too many hits. I mean Hinata didn't even take that many and her heart was giving out. Not to mention one good close strike kills you.

Hyuga techs have no weakness elementally. Rotation is an absolute defense for the duration of the spin. Only Jinton or Bijuu bombs can really overpower it. Air Palm has no elemental disadvantage.

The Byakugan can see the movement of chakra. So eye techniques will be noticed when their about to be performed. Similarly, regular jutsu will also be seen moving to their points. All it takes is seeing a flow for a jutsu once and a smart enough individual could predict jutsu by observing said flow.

They can also perceive fast movements considerably well given Hinata observing the absorption of the Juubi, and the clan managing to overall dodge the Mokuton spikes minus Neji who stepped into them on purpose.

Genjutsu is next to worthless. They'd see the chakra and be able to break it since we've seen that*genjutsu can be self broken. The only one they can't is the Juubi over powered Tsukinomi. Which even catches Jinjuriki based on Sasuke's testament.

Let's face reality. Hardly ANYONE gets on the levels reached by people like Naruto, Sasuke, Madara, etc.

Most Ninja don't even seem to fight on the K11's level given some were being taken down by Zetsu clones and Juubi clones.

Meaning most Ninja have to rely to some degree on taijutsu (look at every fight up to basically the War Arc...Which even that has some taijutsu). Meaning most Ninja have to engage hand to hand with the Hyuga. Meaning most risk organ injuries and losing their use of chakra which is death in a warzone unless you're fit like Gai of Lee.


You have to look at it from an overall average perspective. But even top class shinobi would've struggled against at least Hizashi who was the pinnacle of the Hyuga's potential.

No proof exists to when they started saying this. The only one we know saying it is Hizashi who says it as far back as Part I. No flashback showed the Hyuga to proove or deny they called themselves the strongest with the other two present.
