How are Asians so good at math?

This is really not a lie. My aunt told me about how she went to a Chinese school to teach and how much faster they completed mathematics problems compared to the American students that went with her. The hilarious part is, they were using an abacus board whereas she used a calculator and they still finished much ahead of her. XD

Are they born with innate math skills? :|

Yup, abacus is a little faster than normal calculator, but you have to practise it alot, only then you may master it. Asians don't have any inborn math skills, they just solve complicated maths since younger age. The maths of children of China and South korea consist calculus at very early stage. But not all asian countries have such system, as Bangladesh in Asia too

Not to sound bad... But I went to an elementary school that had many Asians. Thus, I had many Asian friends. What I noticed was from a young age, the parents were a little more strict about learning piano and math compared to Americans. My Asian friends could not come outside and play basketball oftentimes due to not having extra homework (assigned at home) done or being at Kumon (which improves math as well).

Fast forward a few years. The Asians I knew that were so learning oriented were slightly more socially awkward than the Americans who put more emphasis on a social life.

my teacher used to think i was cheating or using a calculator for not writing out how i got the answers.. its so simple, i used my head, its like looking at 2+2.. u just know its 4.. but in more complex forms
